Cops: Man wounded in West Oak Lane shootout
A 35-year-old man was in stable condition after he was shot through his side in West Oak Lane Tuesday night.
Cops said a gun battle erupted on 67th Avenue near 16th Street shortly before 7 p.m. and the victim was hit in his right side. The bullet traveled through his body and exited through his left side. He was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.
Police found two .32-caliber shell casings, two .45-caliber casings and one live .45-caliber round on the block.
Kids gathered and watched as police marked the casings with purple sidewalk chalk on the warm summer evening. On Broad Street a few blocks from the scene shortly after the shooting, police arrested two men found with guns on them, one of which was a .32-caliber, cops said.
No positive identification was made on either man as one involved in the shooting, however, according to investigators.
Police were looking for a man in his mid-20s known as "Mack," who is about 5 feet 7 inches tall, has a shaved head and wore a black T-shirt in connection with the shooting. He was last seen running northbound through a back alley off Sydenham Street from the shooting scene, cops said.
A bullet tore through the window of a house on the block, but police said no one else was injured. They remained at the scene investigating around 8:30 p.m. One witness was taken to speak with police in the Northwest Detective Division Tuesday night.
Not "Mack". He's one of the good guys. Wilhelm Von Humboldt

"Mack" is always drinking a grape soda and scarfing down a large bag of Bar-B-Que cheese curls. He shouldn't be too hard to find. Wilhelm Von Humboldt

Is the racial undertone called for RAPSUX. Don't contribute to a serious problem that is plaguing a once beautiful neighborhood. I grew up in the general area and am far from a criminal. You will always have some no matter what race. Yes they are on Academy road Levick street and others to name a few. We all know these stories sell papers. Where the issue lies is soft on crime judges like Leon Tucker you get a good gun lawyer and case is watered down like jaywalking. Bottom line is all of Philly is like an animal cage anymore unfortunately some good people are trapped there. I wish the best for the young people there trying to do the right thing. MADHOG
Hey, WHY was my post deleted :D?! I was just talking about code words :D! RAP_SUX
