Police are searching for a man in connection with a gunpoint robbery at the Morel Food Market on 54th Street near Parrish in West Philadelphia.
Cops said the suspect barged into the store around 7:50 a.m. on Aug. 28, pointed a gun at a clerk and demanded cash from the register.The man was given an undisclosed amount of money and ran east along Parrish toward 53rd Street.
The suspect is described as a thin, dark-skinned black man in his 20s to 30s. He was about 5 feet 6 inches tall and was wearing a dark T-shirt with “Made in Philadelphia” printed on the front.
The robber was also wearing dark “Nike” pants with a white stripe down the side. Cops said the man had a tattoo of what appeared to be a sword and a knife on his left forearm.
