Man shot outside Port Richmond strip club

An argument inside a Port Richmond strip club Wednesday night escalated to gunfire, leaving one man hospitalized and another in police custody.

A 39-year-old man was shot in his right arm outside The Cove, a club on Allegheny Avenue near Richmond Street around 5 p.m., police said.

Two witnesses later identified the shooter, a 33-year-old man whose identity has not been released.

Chief Inspector Scott Small said police recovered the man’s weapon and took him into custody. Small said the man fired three shots at the victim.

Police were unsure of what the men were arguing about inside the club before the shooting.

The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital where police said he was listed in stable condition as of 6 p.m.
