UPDATED: Man shot in foot in West Philly robbery
Police are investigating a robbery that left a 40-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the foot near 46th and Walnut streets in West Philadelphia shortly before 11 p.m.
The victim was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and listed in stable condition, police said. Lt. John Walker of the Southwest Detective Division said his wallet, containing cash, credit cards and his identification, was taken in the robbery.
The suspects are described as two black men between the ages of 15 and 20. One was wearing a black-and-white-striped shirt and armed with a 9mm handgun, and the other was wearing a gray shirt, Walker said. They fled on foot north on 46th Street, then east on Walnut.
What crappy aim. Gilliam
There's been a rash of armed robberies in that area of West Philly. It's most likely all been by the same one or two kids. Hopefully police capture them soon, or maybe their peers will get to them first. Either way they need to be taken off the streets pronto. Gilliam

46th Street is a feeder route to the SEPTA Blue Line subway. That is a known factors in the area robberies. Also, there are food businesses nearby. Walnut Street car travelers are quite secondary to what is going on in these pedestrian pathways. BMVILLA
