Man shot in N. Philly, in critical condition

A 21-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot in both arms, his left leg, his back, and his buttocks on Judson Street near Indiana Avenue in the Swampoodle section of North Philadelphia Friday night.

Shots rang out around 9:30 p.m. Medics who were driving near the scene of the shooting when the victim dropped to the pavement took him to Temple University Hospital, Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

Police held a hack taxi cab in the intersection of Judson Street and Indiana Avenue because some of victim’s blood splattered onto the car.

No arrests were made, and no weapons were recovered. Fifteen shell casings were found on the scene, Small said.

Police Friday night were unsure of the shooter’s motive.

The suspect is described as a black man who was wearing a black hooded sweater and black pants. He was last seen running north on Judson Street toward Clearfield.
