A 27-year old man was shot five times on a corner in North Philadelphia late Thursday night, cops said.

Shots rang out at the corner of York and Bancroft streets just before midnight, police said, and the victim was hit four times in the legs and once in the groin. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Investigators were still working to determine what motivated the shooting early Friday morning, and said they did not track down any witnesses. Seven spent shell casings that appeared to be from a 9mm handgun marked the corner where the man was wounded, police said.
