Man shot, drives himself to hospital

A 34-year-old man was sitting in his parked car on Germantown Avenue near Ontario Street in North Philadelphia Monday night when he was shot in the lower back, police said.

The man drove himself to Temple University Hospital, was treated and had been released by 10 p.m.

After leaving the hospital, Chief Inspector Scott Small said the man went to speak with police at the East Detective Division, although the man didn't see who shot him, and a description of the suspect was not available.

Police are investigating the shooting.
