A man was shot four times in Strawberry Mansion Friday afternoon and later died at Temple University Hospital, police said.
Shots rang out around 4:20 p.m. on Corlies Street near Huntingdon. The victim was shot once in his chest, twice in his right underarm and once in his left underarm.
Officers from the 22nd District took the victim to the hospital and he was pronounced dead at 4:37 p.m., Chief Inspector Scott Small said. Police were unsure of the man's age Friday evening, but said the victim appeared to be in his early to mid 20s.
Information on the shooter’s motive and a detailed description of the suspect was not immediately available.
