Man shot dead in South Phila. blocks from Tuesday night's quadruple shooting

A 21-year-old man was pronounced dead at the hospital after being shot three times on a South Philly block Wednesday night.

A 21-year-old man died Wednesday night after he was shot three times outside on a South Philadelphia block, police said.

The man was shot in the head, chest and stomach around 8:30 p.m. on 26th Street near Dickinson, according to police. He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was pronounced dead at 8:44 p.m.

Police were unsure last night whether this shooting was connected to another shooting several blocks away, near 32nd and Tasker streets, where four people were injured and police on the scene discharged their weapons. This shooting also happened about five blocks from Tuesday night's shooting that left two young children, their grandmother and a man in his 20s injured on Bucknell Street near Wharton.
