A couple was sitting on the steps of a house on Master Street near 56th at midnight when a silver, four-door car pulled up and a man who was wearing a curly black wig opened fire, police said.

A 24-year-old man was wounded twice in his buttocks, twice in his groin and once in his arm, police said. He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and was listed in critical condition, police said.

The victim apparently tried running from his shooter, police said. The man lost a large amount of blood and much of it was splattered throughout the intersection when police arrived.

At least five surveillance cameras were pointed toward the scene of the shooting, and police were working to review footage to gather more information on the suspect.

The shooter’s motive was unclear Friday morning.  Police said the vehicle the shooter was riding in was last seen driving northbound on 56th Street from Master.
