Man rear-ended, then shot in South Philly

POSTED: Sunday, December 30, 2012, 11:59 AM

A motorist was chased, rear-ended and shot by a group of men early this morning in South Philadelphia, according to police.

The 28-year-old victim told police he was driving when a group of men in a white Pontiac began chasing him and then rear-ended his vehicle at 15th and Webster streets, causing an accident.

The men in the offending car got out of their vehicle and one of the men pulled a gun and fired a single shot through the windshield of the victim's car, police said.

The victim suffered a graze wound to his head and was transported to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition.

The suspects fled the scene but their car - with heavy front-end damage - was found on Cleveland Street near Wharton in Point Breeze.

Police said they have several people they are questioning but no charges have been filed yet.

Philly.com! Again, your headlines: "Man rear-ended, then....." Com'on. The Car was rear-ended. The man was driving the car.

Can we get someone to edit these things?

Well, Philly has developed a reputation for that stuff, as "chased, rear-ended and shot" is popular among certain groups. Headline might be accurate.

Again, we should ban cars because if there were no cars then they couldn't have chased him!

The man may have been "rear-ended". We don't know that. What happens behind someone's closed door is their business

these guys are clearly "thugs" and "animals". but the white guy who doused his elderly mother in gasoline and tried to light her on fire, he's just going through a tough time

So was the black guy who threw his kid in the washer, or the other who cut off his kid's head.
Don't take the crazy and compare them to the norm, just to make a point.

@ spendspend, I just give up with you gun dolts and the car analogy. Guns PURPOSE=to harm and maim and kill, cars, not so much the same PURPOSE. Stop sounding like a tool.

superstar, i share your frustration. Thing is, though, the gun cretins don't even believe what they're saying, not really. They are operating primarily on naked fear and aggression, which they can't verbalize. To enter into the public debate, they have to have something that sounds like a rational argument, so they come up with these phony analogies and apocalyptic fantasies. I'm saying it's the best they can do, which is sad.
