POSTED: Friday, January 4, 2013, 6:00 PM

Police released a surveillance video Friday of a fight that led to the shooting of a 29-year-old man in Germantown.

Around 2 p.m. on Jan. 2, a man wearing a gray vest over a black hoodie walked in the direction of the victim on Germantown Avenue.

In the video, the victim appears partially hidden by a tree. Then the perp rushes the man and pummels him with his fists. During the struggle, the suspect draws a silver revolver and shoots the victim in his chest.

The victim survived, but a police spokesperson didn't know his condition on Friday.

Tipsters are urged to call 215-686-3243 OR text 773847.

This title of this article is so off. This is nowhere near Germantown despite the fact that it's on Germantown Ave. It should really say Tioga.

3500 of Germantown Avenue is in Nicetown-Tioga NOT Germantown. You don't even know what neighborhood you are writing about in your narrative!

Keeping it real in Philly. I am sure this clown has a long rap sheet and many liberal judges have given him a pass in the past.

That's crazy. I wish they let us see the zoomed in and slow mo version. Didn't even see the gun till he was walking away. Was he throwing punches with the gun in his hand?

Not only did they not fix the glaring I accuracy in this article, but it's now blow up to being a huge headline. Way to put our neighborhood down. Fix this article already and call it Nicetown-Tioga or Tioga.

And Nutter rants about Gun Control! He can't keep the streets clear of the thugs. Nutter should be asking for the National Guard to patrol the streets. They have been a jungle for the last 20 years.

There are about eight or so witnesses here but nobody says a thing. Why should anyone care? Kill each other off.
