Man jumps from window at police HQ

A 21-year-old man who was being questioned by homicide detectives jumped from a window at police headquarters on 8th Street near Race Thursday night, police said.

The man hurled his body at the glass and fractured his ankle, police said, adding that the windows do not open manually.

The man was taken to Jefferson Hospital and was listed in stable condition Thursday night. Cops were unsure Thursday night of whether the man would face charges for jumping from the window.

Police said the unidentified man was being questioned in connection with a fatal shooting on 21st Street near Tioga on March 13, in which the 27-year-old victim jumped out of a second-story window and was pronounced dead on a porch roof.
