Police are investigating a shooting in the Castor section of Northeast Philadelphia that left one man dead and a teen hospitalized Thursday night.

Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said an 18-year-old man was shot in the chest and was taken by medics to Aria-Torresdale Hospital in extremely critical condition.

The man was pronounced dead just before midnight, Small said.

A 17-year-old  was also taken by his mother to Jeanes Hospital, and was listed in stable condition, Small said.

The younger teen, who was shot in the arm, would not provide police with information on what led to the shooting, Small said.

The shooting happened behind a house on Unruh Avenue and Kindred Street at about 10:30 p.m.

A full description of whoever shot the two teens was not immediately available, however, Small said the possible suspect may have fled the scene in a white Cadillac with a dark top.
