Center City assault leaves man hospitalized

A man was hospitalized with a gash to his head after he was assaulted on 13th Street near Vine in Center City Monday night, police said.

The victim was involved in a drug deal gone bad around 7:35 p.m. and was assaulted with an unknown object, police said. Cops were unsure of the victim's age Monday night.

The man was taken to nearby Hahnemann University Hospital and was listed in stable condition as of 9:45 p.m., police said.

A detailed description of the suspect was not immediately available.
