Police are searching for a man who groped, and tried kissing, a SEPTA bus driver while she was driving her route G bus through Kingsessing on Jan. 7.

Police are searching for a man who groped, and tried kissing, a SEPTA bus driver while she was driving a route G bus through Kingsessing on Jan. 7.

Police posted surveillance footage in hopes that help from the public will lead them to the suspect.

About 4:15 p.m., police said a man got on the bus on 56th Street near Warrington Avenue and sat in the back.

He paced the bus several times and ordered the operator to drive the bus faster, police said.

The man came to the front of the bus, groped the driver’s genitals and tried to kiss her, police in the Special Victims Unit said.

The woman was able to fight him off and the man ran from the bus on 57 th Street.

The suspect is described as a black man, who is between 20 and 30 years old. He is 5 feet  7 inches tall and weighs between 135 and 140 pounds. The man has thin corn row style braids, sideburns and a scruffy beard.

He was wearing a dark hooded sweater and khaki pants.

Police said the man was wearing a sneaker on his right foot, and a sandal on his left.

Tipsters are asked to call the Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit at 215-685-3251.
