This post has been updated
A 32-year-old man was shot dead on Bridge Street near Torresdale Avenue in Frankford Wednesday night, police said.
He was shot once in his forehead around 7:35 p.m., and was pronounced dead at Hahnemann Hospital just before 8 p.m., said Officer Jillian Russell, a police department spokeswoman.
Police said the man was shot on the sidewalk during a drug deal.
The slaying raises Philadelphia's 2012 homicide count to 31.
Police said two men were seen fleeing the area southbound on Torresdale Avenue.
However, a solid physicial description was not immediately available.
Police took witnesses in for questioning, and no arrests were made.

31 in 25 days, or 1.24 per day...on pace for 454 in 2012. step it up, we can reach 500 if the weather continues to be mild. tkohl
To Northeaster, Bridge Street is Frankford in that area. In my opinion, you don't get to Wissinoming until you get on the other side of Cheltenham Avenue. phillyguy73- Actually, it's East Frankford...it borders with Wissinoming at Harbison Avenue (two blocks north up Torresdale) as a general rule...Bridge Street is a busy narrow thoroughfare there, not very condusive for a "drug deal"...But there are pockets of East Frankford that are literally out of control, and there are areas that require constant foot patrol by police...... (Hawthorne,Glenloch,Tackawanna)...which has been subdued over the last few years...The neighborhood is literally a drug buffet.

what sucks the most is I live 5 blocks from where this happened... I just recently moved to the area... Looks like I will be moving to another part of Philly or just out of the city completely... THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! rondawg
