Man dies after being shot in North Philadelphia

A man was pronounced dead after he was shot twice on a North Philadelphia street Sunday afternoon, police said.

Homicide detectives were investigating a fatal shooting in North Philadelphia Sunday afternoon.

Police said a 23-year-old man was shot once in the chest and once in the right leg just after 3 p.m. on West Eyre Street near 27th. He was taken to Temple University Hospital by medics and pronounced dead there shortly before 4 p.m.

No arrest has been made, and police in the Homicide Unit said they were still investigating what motivated the shooting.
