Man arrested in overnight stabbing in Olney

The victim, a 50-year-old man, is in critical condition.

An arrest has been made in serious overnight stabbing in Olney, police said.

The stabbing happened just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday on Rosemar Street near 2nd. Officers found a 50-year-old man stabbed twice in the chest. He was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center in critical condition.

Police said a suspect who was known to the victim was arrested and the weapon was recovered. Neither the suspect's name nor the motive has been released.

Separately, a 27-year-old man is in critical condition after a stabbing in Kensington.

Officers responded to Lee Street near Allegheny Avenue around 2 a.m. Sunday. The victim, whose name has not been released, was found stabbed once in the head and once in the lower back. He was taken to Temple University Hospital.

Police said the suspect in that incident was also known to the victim, but police did not release their name, pending charges.
