Man, 45, critical after overnight shooting

A 45-year-old man was in critical condition Thursday after he was shot several times overnight in West Philadelphia.

Police said the victim was shot several times throughout his chest, elbow and side just before 2 a.m. at 61st and Walnut streets. He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he remained in critical condition Thursday afternoon.

A police spokeswoman said investigators were looking into the possibility that a domestic dispute led to the shooting, but no arrests have been made.
