A 33-year-old man died after he was shot and run over in front of about 100 people while a rap video was being filmed in Olney Thursday night, police said.
Shots rang out on Tabor Road near 5th Street about 7 p.m., and the victim was wounded once in his head.
After the man was shot, he was run over by a gold Nissan Altima occupied by innocent bystanders trying to get away.
Medics took him to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:42 p.m.
Plainclothes officers saw the incident unfold, said Chief Inspector Scott Small, and police were unsure if the man was the intended target.
Three gun-wielding men were stopped by police shortly after the shooting, and one was identified by witnesses as the suspect, police said. All three men were arrested Thursday night.
Three shell casings, blood, the victim’s cellphone and a set of keys were found at the scene.
Police also found a gun that had been tossed beneath an overpass on 5th Street near Somerville Avenue.
Cops were unsure of the shooter’s motive as of 8 p.m. A surveillance camera near the scene recorded the incident.
Several witnesses were taken to speak with police.
