A 32-year-old man was pronounced dead at Albert Einstein Medical Center Sunday night after another man brought him to the hospital shortly after 7:30 p.m., police said.

The victim was pronounced dead of a gunshot wound to the left side of his face at Einstein at 7:41 p.m., cops said. Investigators said the man who drove the victim to the hospital told them the man had been shot in Springfield Township, Montgomery County.

Police said cops in Springfield did receive a call for gunshots earlier in the night, but said they hadn’t yet located a shooting scene.

Philadelphia homicide detectives and detectives from Montgomery County were working together to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting, and the man who dropped the victim off at the hospital was being held for questioning, police said.

If, as the "police said", "The driver who dropped him off and the vehicle he came to the hospital in remained there", in what sense was the deceased "dropped off" at, as opposed to "brought to", the hospital?

He wasn't pronounced dead for 10 minutes after arriving at the hospital.

I agree, Einstein is not THAT far away, but Mercy Suburban or CHestnut hill would have been closer for emergency care -- unless they don't have ERs, idk. maybe the driver wasn't familiar w/ the area but knew Einstein. My ? would be, what time did Springfield Twship receive teh call about shots fired, in comparison to what time the guy showed up at Einstein... sounds like he was driving around for a while. I'm wondering if he shot the passenger in his own car, either on purpose or by accident. Wound was on left side of victims face...

Let me get this straight, this man got shot in Springfield township and the guy drives him to a hospital in Philly....... that doesn't make any sense. In my opinion, the man could still be alive if the other guy could have found a closer hospital.

This is why thugs need to have GPS systems in their cars. It'll be easier to find the closest hospitals.
