About an hour after a man and a teen were shot at a playground in North Philadelphia, a man was shot to death a little more than a mile away Thursday night, police said.

Cops said a 29-year-old man was shot in the back of the head and the chest on Hagert Street near 27th at 11:14 p.m. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:34 p.m.

Police said blood, a beer can in a black plastic bag and one bullet fragment marked the scene on Hagert Street. They remained at the scene investigating around midnight.

The man was the sixth person shot in Philadelphia in about two hours Thursday night.

West Baltimore, South Central LA, South Side Chicago, Camden NJ.
None of these places have nothing on North Philly!

At least Councilman Kenney is working on the Chick-Fil-A threat to our city...

How many fatal shootings have there been so far this calendar year? I've lost count and obviously so have the papers.

Tom is right. The city's leaders are obviously unable to deal with the issues that matter. Rather than fight for citizens' safety they choose to declare war on legitimate businesses and sugary beverages.

Councilman Kenney protests what matters to him personally; murder and mayhem among his constituents was never his concern.

Kenney wants to save us from the spicy chicken sandwich and waffle fries because the democrats have no interet in trying to save the city since to do so might put in jeopardy the election rigging system that has proven to be so unbeatable and so destructive. You couldnt make it up, they've mad the problems all but unsolvable and we cant vote in anyone who might make a change.

You can't stop the violence. Nobody can. It is black on black over and over. Nobody wants to talk. So it continues. I guess it will end when the next to the last shoots the last one standing.

Violence begets violence and fear is the result. The black community has to clean up this mess and stop blaming others. become parents and not breeders. Take on these hoods and take pictures of these crimes and criminals. You know how to use you phones to video police actions, then use them for your own safety. Where are your leaders. God bless the good people of the black community , because no-one else can.
