Man, 26, fatally shot in North Philadelphia

A 26-year-old man was fighting for his life Wednesday afternoon after he was shot twice on a North Philadelphia street, police said.

A 26-year-old man was pronounced dead hours after he was shot twice on a North Philadelphia street, police said.

Shots rang out just before 4 p.m. and the victim was hit once in his chest and once in his arm. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital in a private vehicle and was listed in critical condition. The man was pronounced dead at 8:45 p.m.

Police described the shooter as a black man wearing a navy-blue hooded sweatshirt and driving a black vehicle that was last seen northbound on Marshall Street, then westbound on Russell. Police were unsure what sparked the shooting.
