A 23-year-old man was in the hospital recovering from a gunshot wound after he was shot in Hunting Park early Wednesday night.
Chief Inspector Scott Small said the victim told police he was walking down 7th Street with his father shortly after 5:30 p.m. when he heard gunshots and realized he’d been hit in the right side of the chest. The victim then ran to his father’s girlfriend’s house nearby on Roosevelt Boulevard near 6th Street before being taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition later Wednesday.
Small said police did not find a shooting scene on 7th Street, and the victim was not able to provide a description of the shooter other than stating that he saw several people in the distance running away after the shooting. Cops are unsure what sparked the gunfire.
