Man, 20, gunned down in West Philly

A 20-year-old man was shot and killed in the Carroll Park section of West Philadelphia early Sunday, police said.

A 20-year-old man was shot and killed in the Carroll Park section of West Philadelphia early Sunday, police said.

The victim, whose name was not released, was shot three times in the back on Hobart Street near Media, at about 2:40 a.m. He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead.

Police said no arrests have been made.

The fatal shooting was the first of two in West Philadelphia in the span of about 30 minutes. Shortly before 3 a.m., a 23-year-old man was shot and killed on Dewey Street near Arch. That shooting remains under investigation.
