Home-invasion robbery leaves Northeast man injured

Police are investigating a home-invasion robbery in the Northeast that left a 56-year-old victim hospitalized after smashing through a window.

Shortly before midnight, more than one suspect kicked in the door of a residence on Gillham Street near Castor Avenue, police said. When one victim failed to comply with the suspects' orders, he was injured when he was either thrown or fell through a window, according to police. He was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center to be treated, police said. Police said the suspects also removed a big-screen television from the home.

A second victim, a 44-year-old man who was also in the house at the time, was taken to the Northeast Detective Division for questioning.

Police were unsure of how many suspects were involved in the incident or whether they were armed.
