A man died early Thursday after getting shot a few yards outside a concert dedicated to peace, police said.

Just after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, police received reports of someone shot at the Dell Music Center in Strawberry Mansion, said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Officers found Alexis Guevara, 20,  lying in the center's parking lot, on 33rd Street near Hutingdon. He had been shot twice in his abdomen and right thigh, and was taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition, Small said.

He was pronounced dead at 2:18 a.m. Thursday, police said.

Guevara was one of about 600 attendees of "Philly Support Philly," a rap concert held to raise awareness of, and put an end to, violence in the city.

One of those attendees, a teenage girl who declined to give her name, told the Daily News that the concert ended abruptly, and that "everyone was pushed outside without any explanation."

It was only when they got to the parking lot and were standing feet from where Guevara was gunned down that they learned what happened.

The gunfire was sparked by an argument, Small said, and Guevara was shot at close range by a teenage boy, who fled in a white Chevrolet Impala.

Nearby surveillance cameras captured both the argument and the shooting, and investigators are scouring the city tonight for that suspected gunman.

Several witnesses were also transported to Central Detectives for questioning, Small said.
