FBI, police searching for E. Germantown bank robber

A man slid a threatening demand note to a teller at a Citizens Bank Branch on Stenton Avenue near East Washington Lane Wednesday afternoon and ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The robbery happened around 2:45 p.m. and police recovered surveillance footage of the suspect standing at the teller's window. They released photos of the man and are asking for the public's help in identifying him.

The bank robber is described as a dark skinned black man in his late 20s to early 30s, who is about 5 feet 10 inches tall, has a stocky build and a scruffy mustache and goatee. He was wearing a white v-neck t-shirt and a baseball cap.

Tipsters are asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the anonymous tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477). Tipsters may also reach the department online.
