A police officer fired twice at a man when he struggled with officers who approached him in East Germantown after he reportedly exposed himself to people on the street Thursday morning, police said.

Cops responded to Penn Street near Magnolia around 11 a.m. for a call about an emotionally disturbed man exposing himself, police said. When two officers arrived at the scene and attempted to apprehend the man, he fled to the rear of a property on Penn Street and began throwing things at police, prompting one officer to fire two shots at him.

Both shots missed the suspect, and the officer's partner used his Taser on the suspect and eventually subdued him.

The suspect was taken into custody, and there were no reported injuries in the incident.
