Dunkin Donuts robbers sought by police

Police are searching for two men who robbed Dunkin Donuts stores in Olney and East Germantown last week.

On July 10, two men barged into a Dunkin Donuts on 5th Street near Somerville around 4:20 a.m. and announced a robbery. One of the men jumped over the counter and snatched $300 from the register, police said. The second suspect tried opening a safe inside the store's office but was unsuccessful.

On July 13, police said the same two men entered a Dunkin Donuts on Wayne Avenue near Price Street about 4:45 a.m., and approached an employee with a crowbar and demanded money.

One of the men took an undisclosed amount of money from the register and the other tried to open the safe but failed. They were last seen running from the store toward Rittenhouse Street, police said.

The suspects were recorded on surveillance cameras and are described as two black men in their late teens to early 20s. One is about 5 feet 11 inches tall and has a thin build and was armed with a crowbar. He was wearing a green hoody with "77" on the back, gloves, a white mask and jeans.

The second suspect is about 6 feet tall, has a medium build and was wearing a dark hoody, gloves, dark pants and a dark mask.

Tipsters are asked to call the Northwest Detective Division at 215-686-3353/3354 or text tips to PPDTIP (773847). Tipsters may also reach the department online.
