Driver shot in West Philly ambush

Police are investigating a serious shooting that occurred this afternoon in West Philadelphia.

A gunman unleashed a barrage of bullets on a 36-year-old man as he sat in the driver's seat of a car at 53rd and Cedar Avenue about 1 p.m. The man was hit twice in the head and twice in the arm; he remains in extremely critical condition at the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania.
