Double shooting leaves one dead, another hospitalized

A double shooting Wednesday afternoon in North Philadelphia left one man dead and another in Hahnemann University Hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the two men were shot on Ridge Avenue, near 19th at about 1:30 p.m.

A 21-year-old man who was shot in the chest died, police said.

Officials were unsure of the second victim's age, and could not specify where the man was wounded. However, police said the man was shot multiple times.

Fire officials who transported the second victim said he was in stable condition shortly after the shooting.

Police said there were no witnesses to the incident, and as of 5 p.m. there was no description of a suspect.
