Cops: Man's girlfriend discovers his bloody body; passerby finds corpse under I-95

The death of a man whose girlfriend found him lying on the kitchen floor, covered in blood inside his Kensington apartment Monday morning has been ruled suspicious, police said, but investigators haven’t yet determined what killed him.

Police said a 32-year-old woman found her 57-year-old boyfriend's body lifeless and bloody inside his first-floor apartment on Dauphin Street near Front shortly after 10 a.m. Medics arrived at the scene and pronounced the man dead at 10:32 a.m.

Investigators were working to determine what killed the man later Monday. A police spokeswoman said homicide detectives had been notified of the death, but she was unsure whether they had responded to the scene.

Later Monday, in an unrelated incident, police said a passerby found a badly decomposed body under an I-95 overpass on Westmoreland Street near Richmond in Port Richmond. The passerby stumbled upon the unidentified man's corpse just after noon, police said, and the Medical Examiner's Office responded to investigate. Police said later Monday that death has not yet been ruled suspicious.
