Crime roundup: body found, slay victim ID'd

A badly decomposed body was found in Pennypack Park about 1:45 p.m. today, police said. The body, which appeared to be a man in his early 50s, was discovered on Sandyford Road near Brous Avenue. Police said it is thus far unclear how the man died.

Earlier in the day, police identified the 32-year-old bicyclist who was gunned down in West Philly on Wednesday as Rasul Gresham.

Gresham, of 59th Street near Larchwood Avenue, was wounded several times about 11 a.m. by two men who were also on bikes at 59th and Pine streets. He died at the scene; the killers are still on the loose. Tipsters can contact the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or -3335.
