Cops wound man in Kensington

A police officer shot and critically wounded an armed man in Kensington earlier tonight.

Police spokesman Lt. Frank Vanore said that two cops responded to a radio call about a person with a gun in front of a store at B and Ontario streets about 8 p.m.

When the officers arrived, Vanore said,  they were met by a 27-year-old man who aimed a handgun at them.  One cop opened fire, wounding the man in the stomach. He was admitted to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.
