Cops to interview hit, run driver

Police in the Accident Investigation Division said they have a person of interest in a hit and run accident that left a 9-year-old girl hospitalized on Feb. 14.

The girl was riding her bike on Merion Avenue near 49th Street about 5:30 p.m. when she was hit by a car and knocked to the ground, police said. The woman who hit the girl sped away from the scene.

Police have not released the woman's identity because she has not been arrested or charged yet.

The girl was taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and was listed in stable condition, police said.

Officials in the Accident Investigation Division said the woman, and her lawyer, will likely be interviewed by police on Tuesday.
