Cops searching for teens in aggravated assault

Cops are searching for two teenage boys who were caught on camera assaulting an elderly man for no apparent reason Wednesday afternoon in Olney.

Around 3:10 p.m., an unidentified man was walking along Chelten Avenue near 4th Street when the boys walked up behind him.

They punched him in his head and the man fell to the ground. Police said he suffered serious injuries to his head, face and jaw and was taken to the Albert Einstein Medical Center.

The attackers ran west on Chelten Avenue and police posted surveillance footage of the pair running away in hopes of making an arrest.

Police describe them as two black teenagers, both about 5 feet 10 inches tall.

One was wearing a black hooded sweater and a tan shirt, the other was wearing a navy blue sweater.

Tipsters are asked to call 215-686-TIPS (8477) or submit an anonymous tip online.
