Cops searching for suspects in Germantown brawl

Police are asking for help from the public to find suspects who were caught on surveillance video beating a man inside a Chinese takeout restaurant in Germantown on Sept. 1.

The fight eventually turned into a brawl involving as many as five suspects that spilled out onto the street in front of the restaurant.

Around 1:40 a.m., police said, two men in their late teens or early 20s walked into the New Kitchen Chinese restaurant on Wayne Avenue near Clapler Street and started beating another man, leaving him with a broken jaw, cuts and bruises.

The suspects also assaulted a bystander who tried helping the victim, and ran from the restaurant in an unknown direction. The second victim was not seriously injured, police said.

Tipsters are asked to call 215-686-TIPS.
