Cops release surveillance in brick beating of Center City lot attendant

Cops on Thursday released surveillance video in the brutal beating and robbery of a Center City parking lot attendant, in hopes that someone will recognize the attacker and alert police.

Cops on Thursday released surveillance video of the brutal beating of a Center City parking lot attendant in hopes that someone will recognize the attacker and alert police.

Police said the attacker struck up a conversation with the attendant of the EZ Park lot on Locust Street near 13th around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday before he beat the attendant unconscious with a brick.

The man left with two women, who police said are now considered persons of interest in the crime.

The attacker is described as a black man in his 30s with shoulder-length dreadlocks who wore a black jacket and blue jeans. One woman who was with him wore a pink sweatsuit and was carrying a yellow bag and a backpack, and the other woman wore olive green pants and a dark jacket, police said.

In the surveillance video, all three can be seen leaving the lot while the attendant is lying on the ground near the booth. On Thursday, the 30-year-old victim remained in critical but stable condition at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

Cops found the brick used as a weapon at the scene.

Tipsters should contact the Central Detective Division at 215-686-3093/94 or submit a tip online.
