Cops nab gunman in Grays Ferry robbery
Police on Tuesday arrested a gunman who they say attempted to force a woman into a vehicle at a Grays Ferry gas station in early February and stole her purse.
Rezekiel Harris, 34, of Spruce Street near 55th, is charged with robbery and related offenses. Cops said he approached the victim shortly after 11 p.m. Feb. 3 at a Hess station on Grays Ferry Avenue near 33rd Street and attempted to force her into a car at gunpoint before stealing her handbag.
After surveillance video of the crime was released in late February, a detective from the Upper Darby Police Department recognized Harris from prior robberies in Delaware County and identified him. Philadelphia Police arrested him earlier this week without incident.
