Cops looking for suspect in Old City indecent assault

Police are looking for a man they say indecently assaulted and attempted to rob a woman in Old City earlier this month.

A 26-year-old woman was walking on 2nd Street between Race and Arch around 2:45 a.m. Sept. 9 when she was accosted by a man who assaulted her and tried to steal her purse, cops said.

The attacker is described as white, mid-20s to early-30s, 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 10, weighing between 155 and 165 pounds with a medium build, a dark stubble beard and short, dark hair. He wore white or gray sneakers and khaki shorts at the time of the attack.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call police in the Special Victims Unit at 215-685-3251/3252, the police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or text a tip to PPD TIP (773847).

    INDECENT assault? No mention of that in the story just an attempted robbery?
