Cops identify two murder victims

Police identified two recent murder victims as Naaire Murray, 17, of North Philadelphia, and Isaiah Walker, 28, of Ludlow.

In the earlier case, someone shot Walker, of Sixth Street near Oxford, several times in the head on American Street near Ontario in North Philadelphia about 10:25 p.m. Saturday. Police rushed Walker to Temple University Hospital, where he died Monday morning. The motive is unknown; police are seeking two men, one of whom was armed with a small revolver.

In the more recent case, someone shot Murray, of Huntingdon Street near 24th, in the chest outside his home just before 9 p.m. last night. Police found him collapsed on a couch inside the home and rushed him to Temple, where he died during surgery at 10:50 p.m. Police say an argument sparked the shooting, but reported no suspects.

Murray was an aspiring rapper who went by the nicknames "Young Naa" and "Fresh Kidzzz," according to his Twitter feed.

There have been 174 murders in the city so far this year, up slightly from 167 at the same time last year, according to department data.
