Cops collar parolee accused of kidnap try

A parolee who was on the lam since Monday, when he allegedly kidnapped a woman at knifepoint from the halfway house in Spring Garden where both live, has been collared, police said this morning.

Roosevelt Glenn, 61, was arrested about 6 p.m. last night at 16th and Berks streets after a tipster called 9-1-1, police said. He now faces charges of robbery and attempted abduction.

Glenn allegedly woke a female resident of the Gaudenzia House, on Spring Garden Street near 13th, about 2:35 a.m., police said. He allegedly forced her at knifepoint out of the building, but she was able to fight him off and run for help. Officers who responded to the Gaudenzia House found a security officer tied up; the guard told cops Glenn bound him and stole his personal belongings.
