A 94-year-old woman was bound and assaulted during a home invasion in Mayfair on Sunday morning, police said.
The incident was reported on Unruh Avenue east of Roosevelt Boulevard around 10:15 a.m.
The victim reported that the suspect threatened her with a syringe and forced his way into the house. He then assaulted the woman and tied her up.
Police said the suspect fled with an unknown amount of jewelry.He is described as a male, estimated between 40 and 50 years of age, brown hair, wearing a brown jacket with fur around the hood.
The victim was taken to Frankford Torresdale Hospital. The extent of her injuries is unclear.

The Inky staff may be too PC to actually tell it like it is. (For instance a couple of weeks ago a little boy was missing and they pulled the same stuff by not giving a description of race.) But the police do it the other a=way to the the other extreme. A few years ago I was witnessing massive graffiti wall writing in a school yard in the Northeast. I called 911 and reported wat I was watching in real time. The dispacher asked for a description of the perp. I gave a height weight age and before I could go further the dispatcher said "Black or Hispanic". I asked "those are my only two choices?"...he's white.
