A 24-year-old woman was found strangled to death inside a house in East Germantown Monday afternoon, police said.

Around 2:30 p.m., police responded to a house on Chelten Avenue near Chew and found the unidentified woman. A 28-year-old male suspect was still on the scene when police and medics arrived, said Officer Tanya Little, a police department spokeswoman.

The relationship between the victim and the man was not immediately clear, police said. The man was taken into custody, but charges had not been filed against him as of 7:20 p.m.
