Cops: More than $1.5 million in drugs seized in Mayfair "stash house" bust
Police on Tuesday night busted what they described as a "stash house" in Mayfair and seized drugs with a street value of more than $1.5 million.
Police said they took five kilos of heroin out of a house on McKinley Street near Brous Avenue. It was unclear late Tuesday whether any arrests were made in connection with the bust.

see I love right down the street from this place, and im not shocked at all. I find it funny how people who do not live in the Northeast seem to think that we think we are better, we know whats happening, we are just trying to hold on unlike everyone else you just ran away Iknowyourider
I would like to know how these cops are busting all of these drug houses and dealers.
I guess the tips are getting better and better. djc918- They've got a long way to go...and they know it.

Running away solves nothing. I've got to give a big hand to those good folks in Mayfair who make a stand for their neighborhood despite the adversity. If white flight continues on the pattern it has, you will soon hear of these kinds of incidents in Willow Grove, Jenkintown, and Elkins Park. Where are you going to run next - Nebraska? Places like Upper Darby are already in an advanced state of decay. Miss Bunny
If the drug dealers allowed the cops to find this house they must have many others that are bigger stash houses.
Reminds me when I read that they catch a drug mule at the airport with a few ounces of drugs, while a couple tons come in on a boat undetected MODEREATER
don't blame the government, that's a copout, the real culprit is the scumbag real estate investors, mostly white by the way, who could care less about the quality of life in these neighborhoods as they apply for section 8 housing whenever and wherever they can, because it's guaranteed money from the govt. who pays half of the rent for the property. all these people care about is the money. they are slumlords. i see it everyday because i work in these houses every day. but as i said in prior post don't kid yourself their are grow houses and meth labs and everyhing else bad in the burbs too. you just don't know about it. meanwhile the suburb kids come into the city to get their drugs. it doesnt matter where you run to. deatheater
Ron Paul spoke with CNN railing against the U.S. war on drugs.
"This war on drugs has been a detriment to personal liberty and it's been a real abuse of liberty," Paul said. "Our prisons are full with people who have used drugs who should be treated as patients -- and they're non-violent. Someday we're gonna awake and find out that the prohibition we are following right now with drugs is no more successful, maybe a lot less successful, than the prohibition of alcohol was in the '20s."

Do a search for Law Enforcement Against Prohibition
Law Enforcement Against Prohibition is an international organization of criminal justice professionals who bear personal witness to the wasteful futility and harms of our current drug policies. Our experience on the front lines of the “war on drugs” has led us to call for a repeal of prohibition and its replacement with a tight system of legalized regulation, which will effectively cripple the violent cartels and street dealers who control the current illegal market.

until you deal with addiction this "war on drugs" is worthless.
the prisons are packed.
court dates take forever.
and as soon as one is arrested there are two who take his place. 1000hugs- 5 kilos of heroin. Could that volume of drug business be related to the many murders in the area? Unclears as to arrests? Does it mean that the baddies left a huge stash of drug unguarded for the cops to find it? DonQ
