POSTED: Wednesday, October 10, 2012, 12:35 AM

Police on Tuesday night busted what they described as a "stash house" in Mayfair and seized drugs with a street value of more than $1.5 million.

Police said they took five kilos of heroin out of a house on McKinley Street near Brous Avenue. It was unclear late Tuesday whether any arrests were made in connection with the bust.

You really have to leave Philly and then read this stuff every day to realize how bad things have gotten. I don't think the people who are still there even realize how bad it is.

please, how naive some of you are, like the suburbs are so perfect...do you have any idea how many suburban kids are on drugs? where do you think all of these college idiots come from who are coming up with brilliant ideas like alchohol enemas and "farming" where they stick their hands in a paper bag digging for various pills which they then swallow.ever watch campus pd? you should. it will scare you to think that these kids are the future of america. every area in the city and suburbs has its good and bad. so if you want to think that soccer mom usa is where its at go ahead and live in your dream world. i live in a perfectly fine neighborhood in phila and have never had a problem here. i enjoy my city and my proximity to anything i need in sports food and entertainment. i have two sisters who live in the suburbs who constantly complain about ridiculous taxes. utility services who haven't a clue as to what they are doing and schools that tell you if you have a b day party for little johnny you must invite the entire class not just johnnys friends. so give me a break.

Sergeant Gerry Boyle: "You lads always announce seizure of drugs worth a street value at $10 million or $20 million or half a billion dollars. I wonder what street it is you're buying your cocaine on, because it's not the same street as I'm buying my cocaine on."

Mainly the result of the changing demographics of what used to be a great neighborhood to live in. Thanks to our government forcing section 8 on all of the good hard working people living in this area.

HAs the Mayor of Mayfair, Mike Stack, weighed in on this yet and told the voters what he intends to do about it?

correction, the mayor of mayfair would be Bobby Henon. His campaign slogan was that he was going to restore from Wiss up. Make it what it once was. LOL! Much like the other Democrat in a big house (not nutter)(although also useless) nothing will be done for 4 years and much like mcgeehan who has do nothing for years, Bobby will be elected again, and again and again. how many years was Joan in? How many years has McGeehan been in? Stack? keep electing and you will keep getting the same old same old.
