Cops: $100K in jewelry taken in Philly mall heist

Three men are wanted for stealing $100,000 in jewelry from a store inside of the Philadelphia Mills shopping mall.

Using what appeared to be rubber mallets, the trio smashed their way through the Zales Jewelry store at the mall, formerly known as Franklin Mills, around 10:26 a.m. Wednesday and grabbed gold and diamond rings, police said.

They made off with five or six Vera Wang rings and 10 to 12 Celebration rings, with a total value of about $100,000, police said Thursday.

The men were last seen running through the mall, which is on the 1700 block of Franklin Mills Circle in Northeast Philadelphia, and they may have fled through an exit near the Dave and Buster's, according to police. All three jumped into a blue or silver SUV, authorities said.

The men all wore hoodies - one black, one red, and one yellow. Authorities are currently working to obtain surveillance footage of the incident.
