Cops: Man shot in West Philadelphia, hospitalized

A 22-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot in his right thigh in the Carroll Park section of West Philadelphia Friday afternoon, police said.

A 22-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot in his right thigh in the Carroll Park section of West Philadelphia Friday afternoon, police said.

Shots rang out about 5:05 p.m. on Frazier Street near Thompson. Police took the unidentified victim to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was listed in stable condition as of 6:30 p.m., said Lt. John Walker of the Southwest Detective Division.

After scouring the crime scene and talking to neighbors, police were heading to the hospital Friday night to interview the victim.

A witness told police they heard four to five shot fired, but did not see the suspect. A detailed description of the shooter and information on their motive was not immediately available.
